Good Afternoon,
**Reminder tomorrow is Fun Snack!
This morning students had music.
Then we did Daily 5 and worked on spelling, word work, writing, and epic books.
In math the grade 3's practiced their multiplication and the grade 4's worked on division strategies.

In gym we played "junk yard" and Ringette.
We finished our Chinese Dragon in art today.
We had our last station for social studies to learn about India, Peru, Ukraine, and Tunisia from the Fort Calgary kit.
In science we are finishing up our unit on rocks and minerals.

Hello Everyone,
Today we had our writing groups. In my group we talked about some literary terms such as: Metaphor, Simile, Alliteration, and Onomatopoeia. I read a couple of books that showcase examples of these terms. For example, "Owl Moon," "Oh, The Places You'll Go," and "Click, Clack, Moo."
After we talked about the definitions and more examples students could use in their writing.
In gym we played "line tag" and "4-corner soccer."
In math the grade 3's continue to practice their multiplication facts and the grade 4's are now moving on to division.

We finished the book, "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH." Please ask me what happened.
In social studies we did our stations and started drawing a Chinese Dragon to celebrate "Chinese New Year" yesterday! We also talked about what year we were born in and what that meant about our personalities.
In science we talked about the 4 layers that make up our Earth. We had a great discussion about the crust, mantle, and inner and outer core. Please ask me about it.
Have a great afternoon,
Ms. Russell
