This morning we used place value charts and base ten blocks to solve some subtraction with regrouping problems. Check out Ms. Russell's Twitter page for photos. Ms. Russell also read us the story, "Sir Cumference and All the King's Tens."
We practiced our spelling and did some more word work. We are looking for the letter sounds in our words as well as their meanings.

This afternoon, Ms. Russell read more of "The Hobbit."
We did some poetry today. We talked about the different forms of poems and how some rhyme and some don't, the descriptive words used and the imagery. Then we talked about how in social studies we have been talking about the rights of a child, and their basic needs and wants. We wrote poems today called, "If I Were in Charge of the World" first as a class we brainstormed ideas for what we would cancel, what we would have and what we wouldn't have, then we wrote our own.
