Happy "Friday!"

**Reminder we have skating next week and permission forms need to be filled out and returned in order for your child to skate.
This morning we did Daily 5 and students rotated through a problem of the day, Epic books, writing using their senses, and Haysboro Typing Club.
In math students worked on assigned work on Mathletics. Feel free to work on this at home over the holidays as well.
After lunch Ms. Russell read some of "The Tale of Despereaux" and then we did a reading response.
We had gym with the grade 5/6's this afternoon and played "Rock, Paper, Scissors relay" and "bench dodgeball."
In social studies we talked about what we have learned so far in our unit. We discussed things like: the rights of children, poverty in other countries, "A Long Walk to Water," "Children Around the World" videos, "The Way to School" story, "On the Way to School" documentary, and "The Breadwinner." We then wrote about our favorite part, what stood out to us the most, and why it is important that we are learning about children around the world. After we watched a short video clip about a boy's daily life in Fiji.
Have a great long weekend!
Ms. Russell
