Good Afternoon,

**Grade 3 Swim Forms came home today. Please fill them out and return ASAP.

This morning we did some word work again. We used our spelling words to build silly sentences, pick out consonants and vowels, hidden words picture, and definition detective.

Ms. Russell read us the story, "Squirrel's New Year's Resolution" and then we talked about what a resolution is. After we brainstormed a list of words that spoke to us to choose one to be our "Word of 2019!" Tomorrow we will do more with this.

In gym we have started circuit training. We spend 1 minute at each station learning how to properly do different exercises.

In math we did a problem of the day and continued looking at the doubling strategy with multiplication. Did you know that if you know that 2x7=14 then 4x7 is just double 14 which is 28.

In science today we started making a "Rock and Mineral" lap book. We also read a short story about Igneous rocks.

For art Ms. Russell has introduced us to "The Group of Seven." A group of Canadian artists who were formed in 1920 and loved painting Canadian landscapes. We are going to learn all about their different styles and how to paint like them!

Have a great afternoon,

Ms. Russell
